According to the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during January-March almost 213 thousand purchase and sale agreements for used cars were recorded. This figure turned out to be 17.5% lower than in the same period a year earlier. As before, the largest number of such transactions was carried out in the Kyiv region, the capital took the second place, and the third place in the ranking went to the Dnipropetrovsk region, which overtook the Lviv region. The fewest deals were concluded in Donetsk and Kherson regions, which is explained by the difficult security situation in these regions.
In the first three months of the year, citizens carried out the primary registration of 52.2 thousand used cars imported from other countries. Compared to last year, this volume decreased by 11.6%. It is noteworthy that the Lviv region leads in this category — due to its location near the border and developed automobile business. The capital took the second position, and the Kyiv region closed the top three. The fewest imported vehicles were registered again in Donetsk and Kherson regions.
As for new cars, in the first quarter 14.3 thousand passenger cars were purchased in Ukraine, which is 16.5% less compared to the same period last year. The greatest activity in buying new cars was shown in Kyiv, where many enterprises, state institutions and leasing companies are concentrated. The Kyiv region took the second place, and the third — Dnipropetrovsk region. Just like in the secondary market, the fewest registrations of new passenger cars were carried out in the regions most affected by hostilities.
