According to ACEA, the total volume of the European car market during the first quarter of 2025 decreased by only 1.9%, so against this background, the Ukrainian decline looks much more noticeable. A more significant drop in sales was observed only in Estonia, where the indicator fell by 55%, and in Malta — minus 51.5%.

During January–March 2025, Croatia and Slovenia surpassed Ukraine in terms of new passenger car sales volumes. At the same time, our country continues to outpace Luxembourg and Bulgaria.

Despite the disappointing results of the first months of the year, positive changes are gradually emerging: in April, the Ukrainian new car market saw a slight increase in demand compared to the same period last year.

Whether Ukraine will be able to make up for lost ground during the second quarter will become clear later.
