The German company said it will deliver more than 100,000 units of the car to customers in 2021, although the number of orders so far is about 17,000.

According to forecasts, 2/3 of this amount will be sold in Europe, and the remaining third will go to the US and China. At the same time, until recently, the new product, figuratively speaking, was not fully presented - it was possible to order only the exclusive, "welcome" version of the ID.4 1st Edition, which, however, was immediately sold out. But now the Germans have started accepting orders for other, regular versions of the new VW ID.4.
The car is available with batteries of 52 and 77 kWh, as well as an electric motor in two power options - 125 kW (170 hp) and 150 kW (204 hp), drive - both front and all-wheel drive. The range varies from 348 to 522 km according to the WLTP cycle. The starting price of the VW ID.4 in Germany is 38,450 euros.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is the second new-generation electric car from the German concern after the ID.3 hatchback. Both cars are based on the modular MEB platform developed by VW specifically for electric vehicles. The German brand has high hopes for these new products: they should help it significantly strengthen its position in the electric car segment.
Currently, the VW ID.4 is produced at the plant in Zwickau in Germany and in China (at enterprises in Jiading and Foshan). Soon it will also be put on the assembly line in Emden (Germany), and next year - at the plant in Chattanooga (USA).
Note that just the other day Volkswagen expanded production of the ID.3. Until recently, the electric hatchback was produced only at the plant in Zwickau, and now also at the plant in Dresden (Germany).
