According to Motor1.com Deutschland, residents of Germany spend on average about 30 euro cents per kilowatt-hour on electricity, but charging electric vehicles costs them significantly more. For example, the operator of the country's largest charging network, Plugsurfing, sets a price of 44 euro cents per 1 kWh at regular points. Accelerated charging costs 54 cents per kilowatt-hour, and fast charging costs 84 cents. Starting January 15, the company is raising rates to 49 cents, 69 cents, and 1.09 euros, respectively. Plugsurfing explains such a significant increase by the rise in VAT by 19 percent and a revision of service costs.
Thus, refueling an electric car in Germany is not a cheap pleasure, especially if you compare the costs of a "plug-in" and a diesel car. For clarity: a compact electric car, for example, the Opel e-Corsa (in the main photo), consumes about 16 kWh per 100 km (according to factory data). In the most affordable charging option, a trip in such a hatchback will cost 8 euros per 100 km, while a diesel Corsa (with a consumption of 4.0 l/100 km) will require only 5 euros for the same distance. And if you charge the Opel only at fast stations, the cost of "refueling" increases to 16 euros per hundred kilometers.
