Journalists from the UK studied insurance company rates and found that drivers named Mohammed pay on average 500–600 pounds more for policies than other car owners.

For example, for a Ford Focus in Leicester, insurance for John Smith costs 1,333 pounds, while for Mohammed Smith it is already 2,252 pounds, a difference of 919 pounds.

Motorists call such a price difference racism, but insurers claim they act within the law and do not violate any rules.
