The reason is the confusion. As AUTO-Consulting reports, the relevant committee did not give the go-ahead for amendments to the law on excise taxes on used cars, and they simply did not reach the session hall.
Because of this, consideration of amendments to law 3251 may be postponed indefinitely — until December! And the president has already signed the law, so it will in any case come into force on August 1 and will operate without changes.
If the situation does not move forward, Ukrainians and everyone interested will have a temporary window of 5 months. That is, until December 31, 2018, a person will be able to import one car per year (no more than three) and clear it at reduced excise rates. Moreover, going for the car in person is not at all necessary. But selling it without any consequences will be allowed only after 365 days.
