Due to the devaluation of the hryvnia, AutoPortal asked dealers and importers whether the prices of the new cars they sell would change. Unfortunately, we must note that most sellers announced an inevitable price increase, although there were also those who stated they would hold previous prices.
ZAZ

First of all, let's note the price changes of domestic ZAZ cars. The official distributor of ZAZ cars published a price list for 2014 model year cars. Thus, the base modification of Ukraine's bestseller ZAZ Sens has risen in price to 63.6 thousand hryvnias, compared to the previous 59.9 thousand hryvnias. Interestingly, not only 2014 cars have become more expensive, but also cars from previous batches.
According to forecasts of the "UkrAVTO" corporation, which includes AvtoZAZ and a number of importers and dealers of foreign brands, in 2014 the growth of the average car price will remain at 4-5%.
Alpina/Aston Martin/BMW/MINI/Rolls-Royce

Buyers of Bavarian cars have nothing to fear for now. Quite the opposite – there is a reason for joy, because:
Alexander Timofeev, General Director of "AVT Bavaria" (official importer of BMW, MINI, dealer of Rolls-Royce, ALPINA); General Director of "AVT Britain" (Aston Martin Kiev)
We have already lowered prices on our cars since January 1, we try to respond quickly to the economic situation in the country and lobby for the interests of buyers to offer the most attractive prices. Everything will depend on the hryvnia, since cars are purchased in euros, and in case of its fall, we will be forced to change prices. We also took care of our customers and formed a large warehouse of promotional cars, which are currently in Ukraine in large quantities and with a good discount and are available for purchase.
Bentley/Ferrari/Lamborghini

The importer of some of the most expensive cars on the market, apparently, is not too worried about exchange rate fluctuations. However, as are potential buyers, probably…
Everything is elementary for us – all prices are "equivalent", that is, we adjust them every time there is a significant change in the exchange rate.
BYD

BYD cars, which took third place in Ukraine among automakers from the Middle Kingdom in 2013, plans to raise prices.
We are forced to revise prices. We can say that we should expect an increase in the price of BYD cars by an average of 5%.
Citroen

The company "Citroen Ukraine" stated that they fixed the exchange rate
Today prices are set at the rate of 8.75 UAH/1 USD. There is a list of cars that dealers have already bought out. These cars are sold at the rate of 8.3 or 8.5 UAH, depending on the date of purchase of the car.
Fiat

Italian cars have already become more expensive
Inexpensive and popular models (such as Linea and Doblo) have risen in price by an average of 3 thousand hryvnias. Fiat 500 and Freemont – by almost 8 thousand hryvnias.
Ford

Fords from last year are still available. Prices for them remain fixed in hryvnias. But this is temporary
Already in February, prices will be changed upward by an average of 5%. But everything will depend on changes in the exchange rate.
Geely/SsangYong/MG
"AIS" does not hide its intentions to change prices depending on exchange rate fluctuations. Moreover, even the percentage of increase was named
The sharp fall in the hryvnia exchange rate forces all market participants to revise car prices. Thus, the "AIS" Group of Companies, which for a long time kept car prices at the most affordable level for consumers, is also forced to revise its pricing policy. In the coming days, an increase in car prices of at least 10% is expected in the company's network. The increase will affect all car brands of the company.
Honda

The representative of the Honda brand understands the difficulties of the situation, but for now is holding back the cost of cars.
Prices for cars have not changed yet, despite the current situation, but we understand that this process is inevitable in the near future. Despite this, in the future our prices will be formed based on the average rate between the NBU and the Interbank Currency Exchange.
Hyundai

One of the most popular foreign brands in Ukraine does not deny a possible price increase, but is in no hurry to name its specific actions.
Gennady Chetverukhin, Commercial Director of Hyundai Motor Ukraine LLC:
Of course, the situation for an importer is quite difficult, but we are trying to find a compromise. The company is already adjusting its prices, and today we are trying to hold back a sharp increase, understanding that we need to sell the existing warehouse.
Infiniti/Nissan

The company "Nissan Ukraine" is cautious with forecasts and any actions aimed at changing prices.
Our situation is such that despite changes in the exchange rate, we have not raised prices. We are closely monitoring the situation and do not exclude that with further changes in the exchange rate, we may revise prices for our cars.
JAC

The company "Bogdan-AvtoTrade" is not yet thinking about increasing prices for JAC cars, but at the moment:
At the moment, in the JAC dealer network, car prices remain unchanged.
KIA

At KIA, only some models have become more expensive. Basically, this concerns the bestsellers – Cee'd and Rio of the current year, which have risen in price by 5-10 percent! Those in stock can still be purchased at an adequate price, but this is also for now…
In the coming days, prices will be correlated in accordance with changes in the exchange rate!
Peugeot

"Peugeot Ukraine" is in no hurry to change price tags, solving problems as they arise.
Since January 1, we have fixed the rate at 8.3 UAH / USD. We still sell at this rate. However, changes related to the fall of the hryvnia exchange rate will certainly happen. At the moment, we are studying options.
Renault

"Renault Ukraine" says that now is the best time to buy Renault cars on favorable terms. What will happen in the future – the representative of the French brand is in no hurry to comment
Prices for Renault cars are fixed in the national currency. Today, prices have not been changed due to the devaluation of the hryvnia. But if this devaluation trend continues, we will be forced to adjust our prices.
Skoda

Despite the fact that Skodas are produced in Ukraine, their cost is tied to the dollar. That is, the USD exchange rate changes, and the cost of cars in hryvnia equivalent changes too. And this is already noticeable in current prices, which have become higher by 2-5%, depending on the model.
Marina Yakovleva, General Director of Eurocar LLC:
"The dollar equivalent of the cost of SKODA cars will remain unchanged, and prices for cars in hryvnia will change depending on the current interbank rate."
Subaru

If you are thinking of getting a Subaru, rest assured that cars of this brand will not become more expensive in the near future.
The company "Subaru Ukraine" decided to "freeze" the hryvnia cost of its cars at the previous level, despite significant fluctuations in the national currency exchange rate.
Toyota

Cars of the Japanese brand are sold at a fixed price. For now…
Now there is a fixed rate of 8.5 UAH for almost all models. Prices remained almost at the same level as before.
Volkswagen

Until February 28, fans of the German brand can buy a car tied to the dollar at the rate of 8.0.
The promotion applies to a limited number of cars located in Ukraine. After stocks run out, prices will most likely change
Conclusions
Almost every year in Ukraine you can observe the same thing – either the introduction of special duties, or the appearance of a recycling fee, or an increase in the cost of registering new cars… this year began with exchange rate fluctuations. Such instability has always generated and continues to generate an increase in demand for new cars, but does this mean that a little later new cars will not become cheaper again? The question is debatable, because everything depends on the brand, the popularity of the model and warehouse stocks. If we compare the spring prices of 2013 with the current ones, we must admit – almost all new cars have become more expensive. Moreover, significantly. Hence the conclusion that in our country rarely anything becomes cheaper, so if there is an opportunity not to delay the purchase – it is better to do today what tomorrow may simply not be possible to do.
