Even compared to its predecessor, the new Scout has a ground clearance increased by 15 mm. The fifth-generation Haldex coupling should also improve the car's behavior in difficult conditions. Its discs are in an oil bath, and the design allows for faster locking, with smaller dimensions and weight of the entire unit.

There are no particular details about the powertrains of the Skoda Octavia Scout. It is only known that the engine range will include two new diesel engines of different power and a petrol unit.

The regular Octavia is equipped with petrol engines ranging from 1.2 to 1.8 liters and diesels of 1.6 – 2 liters. The power of the powertrains is 86 – 180 hp for petrol versions and 90 – 150 hp for diesel ones.
