The question is asked by Alexey Kakava.
Obukhov, Kyiv region. Intersection of roads without a traffic light. There are no signs determining priority on either side. Clause 16.11 of the Ukrainian Traffic Regulations states: "at an intersection of unequal roads, the driver of a vehicle moving on a secondary road must give way to vehicles approaching this intersection of roadways on the main road, regardless of the direction of their further movement." It seems that this is an intersection of equal roads.
Please explain how to act at this intersection if cars approach from all sides simultaneously and need to go straight.

The answer is given by experts of the Karat driving school:
This place of road crossing is not considered an intersection. It is an exit from a residential area (adjacent territory). In accordance with clause 10.2 of the Ukrainian Traffic Regulations: "when leaving the road from a residential area, courtyards, parking areas, the driver must give way to pedestrians and vehicles moving along it before the roadway or sidewalk." In addition, sign 2.1 "give way" is installed here, which requires giving priority to traffic on the main road. Thus, this crossing cannot be considered an intersection of equal roads.

Let's summarize: this crossing is an exit from a residential area. Those who drive parallel to the main road have priority when going straight. Drivers who exit or enter the residential area must give way.

Recall that earlier AvtoPortal told about how to pass a complex intersection on Saperno-Slobodskaya.
