Intersection at Cosmonauts Square. Cars turning from Chokolovsky Boulevard towards Yerevanskaya Street, and those going from Antonov Street to Chokolovsky — who should yield? The former had the main road before, but after leaving it, there is an obstacle on the right...

From AvtoPortal: in fact, before the turn from Chokolovsky Boulevard there is a sign 2.3 indicating the main road (this is clearly visible in the photo). The difficulty is that due to the geometry of the turn, this sign is not always in the driver's field of view — that is exactly what our reader is asking about.

Experts from Karat driving school answer:
All signs at this intersection are placed according to the norms. When we turn from Chokolovsky Boulevard, we have the opportunity to proceed only to Yerevanskaya Street, and we have priority over those traveling along Antonov Street.

After we leave Chokolovsky Boulevard, we see two signs: 2.3 "main road" (it gives us priority) and 4.1 "go straight" (it obliges us to go only to Yerevanskaya). Immediately behind them is sign 3.21 "no entry", which does not allow access to Antonov — there is one-way traffic. Drivers approaching this place along Antonov see sign 2.1 "yield", which forces them to let cars coming from Chokolovsky Boulevard to Yerevanskaya pass.

To avoid doubts when leaving Chokolovsky about who yields to whom, you should drive at a speed that allows you to see all signs in advance and orient yourself in the situation.

In short: vehicles leaving Chokolovsky Boulevard have the right of way. Choosing a safe speed will help drivers correctly assess priority.

Recall that earlier AvtoPortal already analyzed a difficult intersection near KPI.
