Maxim asks:
Rusanovka, intersection of Davydov Boulevard and Entuziastov Street.

The intersection is T-shaped. Which U-turn route — A or B (shown in the diagram below) — should a driver choose when making a U-turn while driving along Davydov Boulevard?

Answer from driving school experts:

The correct option is trajectory "B". According to clause 10.5 of the Traffic Rules, when turning left (and a U-turn is essentially two consecutive left turns), the vehicle must not enter the oncoming lane. Therefore, at most intersections, you should drive in such a way that the conditional center of the intersection remains to the left of the driver making a left turn or U-turn.

In short: the U-turn must be performed so as to avoid driving in the oncoming lane.
