Traffic rules lessons: about the stop line before a traffic light and its effect

Question from Lyubov Tsygankova: We are talking about the intersection on Saperno-Slobodskaya Street. We are talking about the first traffic light encountered after the overpass on Nauky Avenue, when moving towards the Vydubychi metro station.

We need to understand whether the signal of this traffic light applies to the maneuver of turning right onto Velyka Kytayivska Street, given that the turn itself is located before the traffic light. We would also like to figure out how to properly move along all lanes in this section, taking into account the installed signs.

Explanation from the instructors of the Karat driving school: The traffic light signal also applies to the right turn, since the stop line is drawn before the beginning of the turn. Movement here should be based on the signs, although they are placed not quite conveniently. From the left lane, you are allowed to go straight only — there is its own stop line. From the middle lane — also only straight. But from the right lane, you can go straight or turn right: sign 4.1 "Go straight" is installed already after the intersection, so according to the rules, the driver has the right to make a right turn, waiting for the green signal.
