Yesterday in our «Traffic Rules Lessons» section we looked at signs on Podil, and today we move to Obolon.
Question from Dmytro Klymenko:
Obolon, Bohatyrska Street. Who should yield in this situation?
Commentary from the experts of the Karat driving school:
According to the rules, an intersection is a place where roads cross, join, or branch at the same level. Here we are dealing with an uncontrolled intersection where the roads are not equal. The effect of signs 2.1 (yield) and 4.1 (go straight) applies to the left lane. It is logical to assume that for those driving on the right side, sign 2.3 (main road) should be installed, but it is either absent or hidden behind a truck. If the sign is indeed missing, that is a complaint to the road services. But in any case, on this section, priority is given to those drivers for whom the sign is on the right.
Conclusion:
The one who has the «triangle» on the right side must yield.
