The handover of the equipment was attended by the UN Deputy Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Director of the UNDP Crisis Bureau Asako Okai, Japan's Ambassador to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori, and Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service Roman Prymush.
This equipment arrived within the framework of a UNDP project aimed at rapid demining and elimination of the consequences of destruction, funded by the Japanese government. A little earlier, within the same initiative, rescuers had already received a special protective kit for demining operations, as well as training on responding to the detection of explosive objects — the training covered teams engaged in territory restoration and local government workers.
