The editorial staff of Autoportal.ua contacted the press secretary of UkrAVTO company, Dmytro Sklyarenko, with a question about the possible cooperation of the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant with the Chinese brand FAW. In response, an official statement was received, in which this information is categorically denied. Below is the full text of the comment.
"In a number of mass media, publications appeared stating that the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Building Plant allegedly plans to organize the production of a crossover together with one of the Chinese automakers in the near future. At the same time, these materials refer to unconfirmed data. The UkrAVTO Corporation has always acted openly and calls on journalists to adhere to professional standards, the key of which is the verification of information and reference to official sources before publication.
The largest player in the new car market and provider of service services, the Ukrainian Automobile Corporation, which includes the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Building Plant, officially states: no negotiations with FAW Group are being conducted, and the launch of a production program based on the aggregates of this brand is not planned.
Currently, the facilities of the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Building Plant assemble Groupe Renault models, as well as KIA cars," — stated in the official response of UkrAVTO, which was provided in connection with the widespread rumors about the possible appearance of a new ZAZ Odessa model.
