The Zaporizhzhia enterprise is developing a new bus model for city routes, reports Korrespondent.
According to the chairman of the board of ZAZ, Mykola Yevdokymenko, the enterprise has already launched production of small-class buses A08 in three modifications, as well as medium-class A09 based on the Mercedes-Benz chassis and low-floor model A10 with a load-bearing body. Currently, designers are working on creating a large low-floor bus A18 for the city.
The twelve-meter bus A18 will be made similar to the A10 model but will be able to accommodate more passengers.
A ZAZ representative estimates the capacity of the Ukrainian bus market at approximately 1000–1200 units per year.
The plant supplies its products to Poland, and last year received a certificate of compliance with the Euro-6 standard, which opens the possibility of exporting buses to EU countries.
As the publication notes, the A18 is capable of competing with buses from the Minsk Automobile Plant in Belarus, which are currently being purchased by Ukrainian cities.
