Budget cars of a well-known British brand were presented in Ukraine

The Ukrainian car market has been joined by a new brand – MG. Starting in September, cars of the legendary British marque (which, let us remind you, was founded back in 1924) will become available to domestic buyers, but the list of models and their prices have already been announced.

The official importer of MG is Winner Imports Ukraine – a company that has been engaged in official sales and service of Ford, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, and Bentley cars for many years. And now Morris Garages products have been added to this list.

Winner stated that by the end of the year, 12 MG dealerships will be opened in Ukraine, and in the future, their number will be increased to 28.

It is worth noting that MG belongs to China's largest automaker – SAIC Motor. However, cars of this brand are sold not only in China but also in the Old World. Among Eastern European countries, Ukraine became the first country where an official brand representative office appeared.

MG cars in Ukraine

At launch, four MG models will be available, including an electric car. Ukrainian buyers will definitely like the prices of the presented cars.

The cheapest MG car in Ukraine is the 4.6-meter C-class sedan MG5 2020. The cost of the four-door is $13,500-17,200. All trim levels include a 1.5-liter 109-horsepower naturally aspirated engine. The gearbox is manual or CVT. Even the base version has air conditioning and multimedia with a rear-view camera, while the top version features power-adjustable and heated front seats, as well as a surround-view camera.

Next on the list is the subcompact 4.3-meter crossover ZS. The original model appeared in 2017, but now the restyled 2021 version is on sale. The price of the car is $16,500–22,700. It has the same 1.5-liter engine, but slightly more powerful – 120 hp. The gearbox is similarly manual or CVT. Drive – front. The equipment list includes multimedia, many electronic safety systems. By the way, MG ZS is one of the cheapest crossovers with an automatic transmission. The version with CVT is priced at $17,900.

At the top of the Ukrainian MG lineup is the mid-size 4.6-meter crossover HS 2019. So far, this car is available with front-wheel drive, but later they promise to bring an all-wheel-drive version. Price – $20,300–22,500. The HS engine is already turbocharged – 1.5-liter with 169 hp. The gearbox is a 7-speed robot with two clutches. The base includes multimedia with a rear-view camera, power adjustments and heated seats, and a panoramic roof.

By the way, the 4x4 version is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.

Standing apart is the electric crossover ZS EV – a "battery" version of the aforementioned ZS, equipped with a 140-horsepower electric motor (acceleration to 100 km/h – 8.5 sec) and a battery with a capacity of 44.5 kWh (range – 263 km according to WLTP). Price – $34,000. For this money, the buyer gets a well-equipped car: with leather interior, power-adjustable and heated seats, multimedia with a surround-view camera, as well as a good set of electronic assistants (adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping, sign recognition).
