The fact is that the UAZ body was in a poor condition, and initially it was only planned to replace it. However, the matter did not end with just installing the Zaporozhets body.
The car received a 2.5-liter engine from a Gazelle – naturally, it is mounted at the front. The all-wheel drive transmission and transfer case remained from the UAZ, but the suspension is new – coil spring. The frame is also partially homemade. An additional heater appeared in the cabin.
