Let us remind you that with the start of quarantine in the country, the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs suspended the registration of vehicles, except for new passenger cars — their documents for first registration in electronic form began to be accepted by duty units from March 21. As for new commercial and special vehicles involved in the work of critical infrastructure facilities, duty service centers began registering them only from March 27, 2020.

Under such circumstances, in March, vehicles of the Renault brand were most often registered. During the month, 122 new commercial Renaults received Ukrainian license plates. Compared to March last year, the drop in registrations of this French brand was only 3 percent.

In second place was Fiat — 107 registered vehicles, which is 23% less than a year earlier.

Third place was shared by two brands at once — Peugeot and Mercedes-Benz, each of which managed to sell and register 54 new commercial vehicles. At the same time, the lag from the March 2019 indicators for Peugeot was just under 16%, and for Mercedes-Benz — almost 39 percent.

Fourth place with 36 registrations was taken by Ford, which also did not avoid a decline compared to last year — for this brand, the drop reached 54 percent.

The top five of the March rating of new commercial vehicles is completed by Citroen. This brand managed not only to enter the top 5 of the month, but also to increase its March registrations by 74% — to 33 vehicles.

In total, in the first quarter of 2020, 2,135 new commercial vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 16% less than in the same period last year.
