Almost every fifth new commercial vehicle registered in May was produced under the Renault brand — there were 219 such vehicles. Compared to the same month last year, sales of this brand grew by 29%, which allowed it to take the first line in the ranking among all brands in the new light commercial vehicle market.
There was a real struggle between the contenders for the remaining places in the top five — the results turned out to be very close.
The second position in May was taken by Volkswagen. The German brand registered 101 vehicles, which is 74% more than in the same month last year.
The third place remained with Fiat: the company ended the month with 100 sold vehicles, adding 14% to the May figures of 2017.
The fourth was Belarusian MAZ — 98 new vehicles of this brand replenished Ukrainian vehicle fleets. MAZ registrations in May grew by 63%.
Ford closes the top five with a growth of 64% and 97 sold and registered vehicles.
Overall, in the first five months of the year, the new commercial vehicle market expanded by almost 22%, reaching 5,132 units.
