The amendments made to the Law of Ukraine "On Certain Issues of Import of Vehicles into the Customs Territory of Ukraine and Registration of Vehicles" remove the obligation of importers to present a certificate confirming compliance with environmental standards when vehicles cross the border. As soon as the document comes into force, the said paper will need to be submitted at the stage of customs clearance for release into free circulation.

Currently, the check of vehicles for compliance with environmental requirements is carried out in two stages: first, the customs authorities of the SFS control this during clearance, and then the territorial divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs responsible for service services do the same during state registration.

In addition, the updated version of the law removes the requirement to comply with environmental standards for ambulances, special transport, and mobile medical complexes imported into the country as humanitarian aid.
