Industrial-scale production of passenger cars in the country is currently not underway. For several months in a row, statistics on the passenger segment of the domestic automotive industry have been provided exclusively by data on semi-knocked-down assembly. Over the past month, 683 passenger cars were assembled at the Eurocar plant. Only thanks to a very low comparison base did such an SKD assembly indicator ensure positive dynamics in the passenger division: growth amounted to 21% compared to March last year and 13% compared to February of the current year.
Meanwhile, the production of commercial vehicles in Ukraine decreased by 36% compared to March 2017 and by 20% compared to February 2018, reaching a mark of only 28 vehicles. Information on KrAZ is absent from the reporting: the enterprise, starting from August 2016, for unknown reasons, ceased publishing data on its production volumes.
Bus production also declined again. In March of the current year, the result dropped to 62 units, which is 24% lower than the figure of a year ago and 23% lower than the February output volume.
