Importers spent 959.5 million US dollars on purchasing passenger cars abroad. The average customs value of each imported car was 14.1 thousand dollars, which is 3.2 thousand dollars less compared to the same period last year. This decrease is due to the growing share of used cars in total imports: while in the first six months of 2016, cars with mileage accounted for only a fifth of supplies, now they account for more than 41 percent.
The leader in terms of passenger car imports for the specified period was Germany — 15.7 thousand units were delivered from there to Ukraine.
Japan took second place in popularity of destinations, with 8.2 thousand cars brought from there.
France closes the top three largest suppliers with 6.4 thousand passenger cars.
In addition, the top ten countries exporting passenger cars to Ukraine included the USA (4.6 thousand units), Romania (3.7 thousand), Czech Republic (3.3 thousand), Slovakia (2.9 thousand), Hungary (2.7 thousand), Great Britain (2.4 thousand), and Turkey (2.3 thousand).
