This is the best indicator since the beginning of the year, indicating that buyer activity in the new passenger car segment is gradually recovering.

Compared to March last year, interest in new cars in Ukraine has risen by 48 percent.

Most license plates last month were received by cars of the French brand Renault – 829 units. This brand managed not only to improve its position in the list (a year ago it was in second place), but also to increase sales volumes compared to March 2016 by 62 percent. The most popular Renault model in the reporting period was Logan, which accounted for 29% of the brand's sales.

The second most popular among Ukrainians was Toyota, which rose to the third position relative to the results of a year ago and sold 790 cars in a month. Toyota's bestseller in March was the RAV-4 crossover, which accounted for 28% of this brand's sales.

Third place, as last year, remained with Volkswagen with a result of 594 cars. At the same time, demand for the German brand increased 2.1 times over the month. Among VW models, Tiguan led, accounting for a third of all sales.

KIA, which increased sales 2.3 times, was in fourth place in the March rating with 570 cars sold. The Korean brand's main sales volume was provided by the Sportage model, which was chosen by 431 buyers. Moreover, the growing interest in this model again brought KIA Sportage the title of the best-selling passenger car of the month.

Nissan closes the top five – 430 cars (+73% to March 2016). When choosing cars of this brand, Ukrainians most often preferred the Qashqai model, which gave Nissan a third of March sales.

The top ten brands of the month also included: Hyundai – 395 cars sold (+71% to March 2016); Skoda – 393 units (+71%); BMW – 350 units (+28%); Ford – 300 units (+13%); Audi – 264 units (+43%).

Overall, in the first quarter of this year, the Ukrainian car fleet increased by 16,956 new passenger cars. This result was 38% higher than in the same period last year.
