The main share of this import was passenger cars — 6,701 units were brought in. The customs value of these cars reached $91.6 million.
Compared to the same month last year, January deliveries of passenger cars increased by 85%, and their value rose by 73%. As a result, the average price of one imported foreign car decreased from $17.2 thousand to $13.7 thousand.
Most passenger cars entered the country from the European Union — 4,743 units, with Germany being the main supplier. During the month, 1,890 passenger cars were imported from Germany to Ukraine for a total customs value of $25.1 million.
Japan, which held the first place in January last year, has now dropped to the fifth position with 434 cars. Ahead of it, besides Germany, were France (566 passenger cars), Slovakia (469 cars), and Romania (443 cars).
