In particular, we are talking about the most affordable electric model from Tesla — Model 3. AvtoPortal has already reported that this car runs entirely on electric power, unlike the Toyota Prius hybrid, where the system combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to purchase Tesla Model 3 for the patrol service, since the price gap between the Prius and the "budget" Tesla (35 thousand dollars) turned out to be insignificant. But the maintenance costs may differ noticeably in favor of the American electric car.
The question remains: how and where will the police charge such cars? When it comes to April 1st, it's not that critical. Although in reality it would be great — then we could expect rapid and large-scale development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
Let us remind you that exactly a year ago, also on April 1st, customs clearance of cars in Ukraine became voluntary.
