According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the flames engulfed eight reservoirs with a volume of 900 cubic meters each, as well as several smaller containers. At the scene, an operational headquarters of the SES is working around the clock, with staff shifts, to eliminate the consequences of the accident.
To fight the fire, 62 units of fire and special equipment, 308 personnel, and three fire trains provided by Ukrzaliznytsia have been deployed. However, this has not yet brought tangible results — the burning continues with the same intensity as the day before. Moreover, dark clouds have gathered over Vasylkiv and the surrounding villages of the Vasylkiv district, which in this situation are unlikely to promise rain.
