In fact, it must be said that no one had allowed this before either. However, many inspectors simply turned a blind eye to all sorts of "souvenir plates" on license plates like "PTN-PNH". The minister's decision is related to a tragic incident on Monday night in Kyiv, during which armed criminals in a VW T4 car with stickers on the license plates reading "PTN-PNH" robbed one of the capital's gas stations and shot at the police officers who were pursuing them.

"Starting today, we will give strict instructions to all patrols and all traffic police officers to stop the appearance of stickers of any content, even ultra-patriotic ones. The terrible fact was today's crime, when the attackers fled in a car with license plates reading PTN-PNH, which hindered their prompt detention," Avakov stated at a press conference on May 4.

It should be noted that on the night of May 4, in the Desnyansky district of Kyiv, unknown armed individuals attacked a gas station. During the pursuit of the attackers, two law enforcement officers were killed, and three more were injured. A little later, police officers detained three suspects, and one armed robber was shot dead while resisting.
