A total of 92,352 new cars were sold in 2014. With this figure, the country ranked between Ireland (96,344 units) and Slovakia (72,249 units). Just a year earlier, the Ukrainian car market was 13th in Europe, and it was compared to the results of Denmark, Sweden, and Poland. However, while these countries saw growth, Ukraine experienced a decline of -54.2%. This is an unprecedented slump in the European market.

As many experts suggest, the market will continue to decline in 2015. Given the growth of competing markets, this could be detrimental to the automotive business. As in the early 2000s, the Ukrainian market may not even enter the top 20 countries.

And yet, there was a time when other countries could envy car sales in Ukraine... That was 2008, when Ukraine ranked 7th in Europe in terms of sales volume. That year, 623,000 cars were sold in the country. Ukraine then overtook Belgium and came close to Spain's results. But since 2009 and for 5 years, the figures dropped to the level of 12-14th place.
