Nevertheless, motorists were the first to start raising the alarm. Today, law enforcement officers register 3-5 cases of car theft daily. They explain this by the fact that the well-being of the population is deteriorating, and this always leads to a worsening of the crime situation.
The capital's traffic police confirmed: according to their data, since the beginning of the year, 1,238 car thefts have already been registered in Kyiv, of which 958 were committed in the capital, the rest in the regions. Accordingly, the number of thefts has increased by 158%. If last year there were about 400 such cases, now there are more than a thousand! At the same time, only 80 cars were found.
The most attractive for criminals are foreign cars of such brands as Toyota, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, and BMW. Cases of fraud during the sale of cars at car markets have also become more frequent.
