The reasons are known to everyone: drunk driving, exceeding the speed limit, and... "draconian" duties on vehicles. This opinion was expressed by the deputy head of the State Automobile Inspectorate of Ukraine, Serhiy Budnyk.

He emphasized: "People, not having money to buy a good and, most importantly, safe car, continue to drive broken-down cars that pose a threat not only to the owner and his passengers, but also to other road users. People who decided to update their car, the maximum they can buy today is a Chinese car. This is a big problem."
According to Serhiy Budnyk, Ukrainian car manufacturers are to blame for everything, lobbying for "draconian" duties and taxes. He is sure that if customs clearance is reduced or completely removed, the country will only benefit. Their absence would significantly update the vehicle fleet with new, safer cars.
Interesting, what car can the deputy head of the State Automobile Inspectorate afford?
