Over the past weekend, 82 participants of an illegal event were detained on Stolychne Shose. 79 police squads took part in the raid.

Here one might wonder where such efficiency and determination came from in traffic cops. In the history of street racing, this is the first case where the police have been so zealous in their duties. The raid on racers involved representatives of investigative-operational groups of the Main Police Department, Holosiivskyi District Department, traffic police patrols, the State Guard Service, all the leadership of Kyiv police, and the special purpose battalion "Kyiv-1". In total, more than 83 protocols were drawn up. Offenders face up to 3 years in prison.

But the mystery was simple to solve; it turns out the whole fuss was due to the dissatisfaction of one of the country's leaders. Because of illegal races, he had to take a different road home. The change of route caused displeasure to the "Boss", and the security forces, after being reprimanded, rushed to fulfill their duties.

The racers themselves consider the hunt that has begun on them to be pre-election PR by the authorities. Previously, they always had the opportunity to come to an agreement with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. But this time the rides were demonstratively disrupted.

According to the organizers of illegal races, there is no desire to gather at the autodrome (in Ukraine there is only one - "Chaika"), firstly because the space is limited, and secondly because you have to pay about 100 hryvnias to enter.

Well, law enforcement officers commented on this event as follows: "We will closely deal with illegal races, as such entertainment on weekends in busy places of the city causes traffic jams, dissatisfaction of local residents, and sometimes deaths of racers."
