It is curious that even when an inspector acts kindly — for example, limits himself to a warning and lets the driver go, although he had every right to issue a fine — this positive moment quickly fades from memory. But if he stopped, imposed a penalty, and even at the maximum rate (for rudeness), the resentment remains for a long time.
Meanwhile, it is worth accumulating good impressions as well, encouraging the worthy behavior of law enforcement officers with at least a word of thanks.
It is precisely such gratitude that I want to express to Junior Sergeant Yevhen Khrystaforov. While on duty, regulating traffic flow at an intersection, he found himself in an unusual situation. An elderly woman came onto the roadway, intending to cross the street. It is worth noting that this is extremely difficult to do: Khreshchatyk is a very busy thoroughfare. Yevhen behaved like a true gentleman: he stopped traffic and helped the woman cross to the other side. After that, he returned to his direct duties.
It is worth thinking: why does an ordinary human act by a young man evoke such strong emotions in us? Would anyone have acted differently? Probably, we are surprised that it was done by a police officer. By his behavior, he only demonstrated what law enforcement officers should be like and what their true mission is.
