Last weekend, a presentation of new armored vehicles took place in Ukraine. The event was attended by Petro Poroshenko, Arsen Avakov, and Oleksandr Turchynov, who personally familiarized themselves with the characteristics of the vehicles developed jointly with the Canadian-Emirati company Streit Group.
As reported, KrAZ handed over the first prototypes to the National Guard, which will soon be sent to the ATO zone. If the military confirms the need for this equipment, serial production could start as early as next month.
The Cougar model is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 and is designed for combat operations in urban environments. The configuration can vary — from mounting machine guns to grenade launchers. The vehicle is designed to carry 9 people. Two powertrain options are available: gasoline and diesel, both from Toyota, with 240 and 218 horsepower respectively. The maximum speed reaches 105 km/h.
As for the Spartan, this model is based on the Ford F550 chassis and can accommodate 12 people. It features enhanced protection capable of withstanding even explosions of light mines. Under the hood is a single turbo diesel engine with a displacement of 6.7 liters, producing 400 horsepower. The maximum speed is 110 km/h.
