Alexander Turchynov, who holds the post of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and acting president, reported that checkpoints with thorough inspections have been organized in Kyiv. This was done due to possible provocations expected by May 9.
Already on the morning of May 5, traffic restrictions were introduced at a number of checkpoints using barriers. As a result, traffic jams formed on the approaches to the city. Also, motorists could notice new special communication antennas installed near the checkpoints.
