Specialists of the tuning bureau are ready to increase the output of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque to 450 horsepower and 500 Nm, recalibrate the chassis, and add exterior enhancements.
The full performance upgrade package includes replacing the turbocharger, installing a new intake and exhaust system, as well as reflashing the engine control unit. Additionally, the RS 450 tuning kit can be supplemented with H & R sport springs and reinforced brakes.
The exterior enhancements are subtle: the 450-horsepower Golf R can be recognized by the Rieger front splitter, custom diamond-coated alloy wheels on low-profile tires sized 235/35 R19, and optional Manhart RS 450 decals with a stripe on the tailgate.
