At an exhibition dedicated to sports cars, a homemade car caused a real sensation. And that's not surprising: no more than a quarter of the original Lada remains in it. An Odesa resident installed a turbine on the engine, moved it to the rear of the body, lowered the roof height by more than 20 centimeters, and added an internal safety cage. The car's body was transformed beyond recognition — Roman made it from fiberglass. This took about 50 kilograms of material and the same amount of liters of epoxy resin, as well as 100 meters of sandpaper and 35 canisters of mounting foam.
"Fiberglass is a very durable material," says Roman. "When I was just starting work on my sports car, many doubted such an idea and claimed it would be unreliable. Imagine their surprise when I walked on the car's roof and even jumped on it — not a single dent remained!"
As the master admits, he was inspired to create the car by his beloved girlfriend and a famous alcoholic cocktail — this is even reflected in the name of the supercar RVT MartiLana. It took five years to build the car. It often happened that the car was almost ready, but at the last moment, just before painting, Roman decided that everything needed to be redone from scratch.
The technical specifications of the RVT MartiLana look like this:
The turbocharged engine produces 420 horsepower
Top speed — 350 km/h
Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds
Curb weight — 500 kg.
In terms of the combination of characteristics, only Formula 1 cars can compete with this vehicle.
Roman's girlfriend, Svetlana, actually dreamed of a different car, but he managed to change her views. "Of course, many evenings were spent, but I regret nothing, because Roma created a real masterpiece," she shares. During the work on the supercar, a team of friends "RVT" gathered around Roman, who helped him with everything.
"It's a pity that my mother never saw the result of my work," says Roman. "She always believed in me and supported my passion."
Let us remind you that earlier AvtoPortal reported that Lego fans assembled a real car from the construction set.
