German manufacturer Sono Motors has announced the completion of work on its debut production car — the original electric vehicle Sion. The launch of the model is planned at the facilities of the Finnish company Valmet in the second half of 2023, but order acceptance is already open. This information appeared on the company's official web resource.

The Sono Sion project has been developed since 2016, but due to the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the global shortage of semiconductors for the automotive industry, the start of production has been postponed several times. The model received the status of a "people's" electric car thanks to its affordable price (from 25,125 euros including state compensation) and an unusual financing method — Sono Motors raised funds through crowdfunding.
