Twelve top-of-the-line Cadillac CT6 sedans will set off from New York to Los Angeles, crossing the entire country from the East Coast to the West Coast. On interstate highways, the cars will rely on the Super Cruise autopilot.
The Super Cruise function takes full control of the car on the highway and allows the driver to not hold the steering wheel.
This run will be a test of the autonomous mode in real road conditions, which will help identify possible shortcomings before the system is offered as an option for the CT6.
