In 2015, there was already an attempt to open a network of battery swap stations, but the project failed due to low demand.
The new system, shown in the patent drawings, is mounted on a mobile stand that can be easily moved to the desired location. The mechanism itself is simplified and lacks full automation, so it now requires the work of one operator. The battery replacement time has increased to 15 minutes, instead of the previous one and a half minutes.
Tesla representatives have not yet disclosed any information about the timing of putting such complexes into operation.
