The first test launch of a driverless taxi took place in Moscow, but the tests have so far been limited to a closed area.
The software that powers the autonomous Prius was created by Yandex specialists. For navigation and maneuvering, the car uses an Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics processor, a video camera, and a lidar. Optimal route planning is carried out through Yandex.Navigator and Yandex.Maps services.
It is expected that within a year, the driverless Yandex.Taxi will be ready for testing on the streets of Moscow.
