Judging by the patent application that Toyota filed in 2014, its new development provides for folding wings that hide in the vehicle body.
Such a car will be able to drive on regular roads — for this, the wings will fold. When folded, having a rigid upper part, they will be tightly packed into a special compartment. Telescopic drives are provided for their deployment.
It is worth noting that several companies are currently working on creating flying cars. As for the Toyota project, the Japanese manufacturer is in no hurry to share details, but the patent itself suggests that soon the brand will show a prototype of a car that can both drive and fly.
