According to available information, the car will be available in several versions: two with hybrid powertrains — one with the ability to charge from a regular outlet, the other without it, as well as a fully electric modification. The range of the purely electric version will be about 320 kilometers.

The model is expected to be named Model E — Ford has the corresponding rights to this name. Production of the new product is planned to be launched in 2019 at the company's new Mexican plant.

As the main rival for Model E, the manufacturer considers Tesla Model 3. Currently, Ford's lineup has only one electric car based on the Focus, which travels 180 kilometers without recharging and costs from 29 thousand dollars on the American market.
