A clear confirmation of this is a video shot on European highways. A modern Mercedes crossover flew into a ditch (probably due to icy asphalt) and could not get back out on its own. A four-wheel-drive Audi sedan from the nineties came to the rescue of the stuck SUV.
On the first attempt, the old Audi failed to pull the crossover out – the snowy road, which severely limited the wheels' traction, got in the way. Then the sedan was repositioned, placing it at a sharper angle to the Mercedes, and after several attempts with jerks, the SUV was freed from its snowy captivity.
Obviously, the legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive system once again demonstrated its impressive capabilities in difficult weather conditions.
