The special feature of this exhibit is that it is one of the very first ZAZ-965s. Moreover, it is an example from the first batch produced in 1960 (the car's serial number is 1985)! This "hunchback" has a number of differences from subsequent versions: firstly, it has a slightly different chrome body trim, and secondly, the "ears"-air ducts are styled differently. But the most interesting thing is that the car is equipped with a fundamentally different engine starting system.

The ignition is turned on with a key, but the engine itself is started using a special lever.

According to the founder of Old Car Land, Pavlo Lozovenko, the ZAZ was initially found disassembled, and then it was restored by the retro workshop Old Car Service. The car was returned to a completely original condition – even the body is painted in its original color.

The ZAZ-965 was produced from 1960 to 1969. Initially, the car was equipped with a 20-25 horsepower engine, and in 1962 it was replaced by a more powerful 27-horsepower unit. In total, almost 322.2 thousand "hunchbacks" were produced.
