The Baltic origin of these photos is not surprising: the fact is that this ZAZ-965 electric car was not manufactured in Zaporizhzhia, but by the Riga Electric Machine Building Plant (RER). This happened back in 1974.

There are very few technical details about the car; it is only known that its range was 130 km (which is not bad even by modern standards). Judging by the photos, building the electric ZAZ did not require engineers to "redesign" the entire car: the electric drive was located in place of the gasoline engine. At the same time, externally such a Zaporozhets did not differ from the regular one.

Obviously, it was a prototype car; its further fate is unknown.
It should be noted that the ZAZ-965 was produced from 1960 to 1969. The engine lineup included two units: 0.8- and 0.9-liter engines manufactured by MeMZ.
