Ten models of different classes will compete for the title of World Car of the Year:
- Audi A3
- BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe
- BMW 4 Series
- Honda e
- Kia K5
- Kia Sorento
- Mazda MX-30
- Mercedes-Benz GLA
- Toyota Yaris
- Volkswagen ID.4
In addition, the contenders for victory in four categories have become known. The best city car of 2021 will be chosen from the Honda Jazz, Hyundai i10 and i20, and Toyota Yaris.
In the premium car category, the Aston Martin DBX, BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Polestar 2 will compete, while among sports models, the finalists are the Audi RS Q8, BMW M2 CS, Porsche 911 Turbo, and Toyota GR Yaris. Finally, the award for best design is contested by the Honda e, Land Rover Defender, Mazda MX-30, Polestar 2, and Porsche 911 Turbo.
Recall that last year, the Kia Telluride crossover received the World Car of the Year award. By the way, the best car of 2021 in Europe has already been announced, and the winner turned out to be quite unexpected.
