The prototype called T-Prime Concept GTE may be a harbinger of the Touareg. However, Volkswagen itself does not deny this. In terms of dimensions, the car turned out to be almost 27 cm longer, but you wouldn't say so from the outside.

The authors call the new interface with an emphasis on the curved screen intuitive and enjoyable to use. There are even sensors on the steering wheel spokes. So from the familiar, only the steering wheel, pedals, and paddle shifters remain.

The new model is built on the MLB platform. The SUV is powered by a hybrid powertrain that includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 248 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The internal combustion engine works in conjunction with a 134-horsepower electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The total power of the car is 375 hp and 699 Nm of torque.

The car accelerates to 100 km/h in six seconds. The maximum speed is 223 km per hour. The maximum range on electric power alone is 50 kilometers. The claimed fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 2.7 liters.
