Ford has begun testing its new crossover, which has not yet been named. The first spy photos of the car were published by Motor1. Among foreign media, the new model has received the unofficial name Baby Bronco. The main competitor of the car will be the Jeep Renegade. It is expected that the names Scout or Adventurer may be used for this car. Assembly of the model will be established at a plant in Michigan.
The new model will be built on the same platform as the Escape. According to unofficial data, the car will receive a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The power of the unit will be 180 horsepower. Customers will also be offered a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an output of 250 horsepower. The crossover can be purchased with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
As for the standard Bronco SUV, it will be built on the basis of the new generation Ford Ranger pickup, which debuted last year at the Detroit auto show. It is expected that the car will be equipped with a seven-speed manual gearbox from Getrag. Such a transmission will work in conjunction with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 gasoline engine. The power of the unit will be 325 horsepower.

Later, a hybrid modification of the car may also be presented. Sales of the new model should begin no earlier than 2020. The main competitor of the car will be the Jeep Wrangler.
At the end of June, Ford unveiled a new compact crossover, which was released under the revived name Puma. European sales of the car, designed to fill the gap between the EcoSport and Kuga models, will begin before the end of the year. Production of the cars will be established at an enterprise in Romanian Craiova. The main competitor of the crossover is called the Volkswagen T-Roc.
