During the Eco-Partner conference, which Geely Auto held in the Chinese city of Sanya on Hainan Island, the new Geely Smart (GKUI) ecosystem was presented, as well as the first model equipped with this system — the Geely Atlas 2018 model year crossover. Thanks to the use of GKUI, the Atlas model sets new benchmarks in the field of intelligent communications and confirms its status as a "smart SUV."
The event, at which the Geely Smart (GKUI) ecosystem and the updated Geely Atlas 2018 crossover were shown, was held under the slogan "Connect and Create, Open and Share." GKUI is an ecosystem developed jointly with partners in the field of artificial intelligence, using advanced communication technologies and big data analysis. The result of this work is one of the most open platforms in the industry, based on artificial intelligence and focused on the everyday needs of drivers. The implementation of the platform allows connecting the car to the global network, turning it into a convenient and thoughtful means of transportation and creating a multifunctional space for the driver and passengers.
To date, the platform is compatible with the AutoNavi navigation service, the iFlytek voice recognition system, ZTE telecommunications standards for 4/5G networks, the Ximalaya Radio radio application, Tencent social services, the JD Smart Home application for smart home management, high-speed data transfer technology, the WeDoctor medical service, the Babytree educational program for children, and a number of other innovative solutions. In terms of its operating principle, the platform resembles a familiar smartphone, which provides an intuitive and user-friendly interface for users. In the future, Geely intends to expand the list of applications supported by the new ecosystem.
The Geely Atlas was designed as a high-tech intelligent SUV for those who value modern technologies and communication capabilities. Equipped with the "Hello, Atlas" system, the car marked a new stage in the Chinese crossover market and provided additional opportunities for models in this segment equipped with intelligent solutions, where the standards are set by the Geely brand.
In addition to the new system, the Geely Atlas 2018 model year received other significant improvements. The exterior and interior of the car were updated. In particular, the model was equipped with the G-Safety surround-view system with a 360° viewing angle, which helps detect obstacles and prevent dangerous situations, increasing the level of safety. Among other innovations: a Hi-End Morel audio system, "smart" windows with a safe ventilation function, keyless access to the luggage compartment, 6 USB ports, and other solutions focused on comfort and technical equipment.
In the updated exterior design, a new radiator grille stands out, stylized after jet engine air intakes, sporty 19-inch alloy wheels, as well as elegant rear lights that wrap around the body and are made in Geely's signature refined yet dynamic style. As an option, a new Tan Brown interior color is available, which offers a fresh look at interior design and creates a feeling of coziness and warmth.
In the Chinese market, the new model will be offered with two engine options, familiar from the previous generation: a time-tested 2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine and Geely's own development — a new 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with direct injection. This engine, according to voting results, twice made it into the top ten best engines in China — in 2015 and 2016.

We intend to achieve the goals of the 2020 development strategy as soon as possible and enter the top ten largest automakers in the world. Today's presentation of the Geely Smart ecosystem confirms that Geely is moving towards transformation into an innovative company based on advanced technologies."
